Do you know What a Pilgrim is?

The Church imaged as Pilgrim people.


LI: Recognise how the church as Pilgrim people is journeying to the fullness of
God’s Kingdom.


What is a Pilgrim?
A person who journeys to a sacred place for religious reasons.


There are many people that go on pilgrimage, men and woman go on a short or
long pilgrimage. This Journey is often linked into a Holy place. The places they go to
are usually Places where Jesus grew up and where he taught the his disciples or maybe
at the Temple. There many people that go on pilgrimage.


The places they go to are:
  • Knock, Ireland                                         
  • The Holy Land and Jerusalem

  • St. Peter Basilica, Rome
  • Lourdes, France

Knock, Ireland:
Knock is a place where a group of people were standing outside the church saw a
heavenly vision there.


St. Peter Basilica, Rome:
St. Peter one of the disciples of Jesus and the first bishop of Rome, was martyred and
some people also believed he was buried there. It is in the centre of the Roman Catholic
church, and in the home of the Pope.
