Today at technicraft we learnt how a hot air balloon works.
We used…
- Meths burner
- Tripod
- A flask
- Wet cloth
- Place value block
- Matches
- Balloon
- Gauze mat
- Ice cube
- Stretch a balloon.
- Wipe the outside of the meths burner.
- Light the meths burner safely with the matches.
- Put the ice cube into a flask, if it doesn’t fit rub it
until it can fit in the flask.
- Then place the balloon on top of the flask.
- Place the the tripod on the table then put the meths
burner underneath the tripod.
- Put the two place value blocks under the meths burner.
- Wait for the ice cube to melt.
- When it has melted the balloon should be blown up
because of the heat in the balloon.
The air from the heat energy filled the balloon with air.
The cold and hot air mixed together and made the balloon rise up.
Condensation fills the flask and collects the water.
The water bubbled up and the balloon popped up.
