The Statue of Liberty
LI:Using clues in surrounding text to decode difficult words.
Standing over this enormous statue is situated on a tiny New York harbour.
Built of copper and dressed in Greek-like robes the statue holds an flaming torch in her raised right hand. Resting on a base, this famous lady is shown stepping towards freedom from a broken chain at her feet.
A lift is available to transport visitors to the top of the pedestal. From there they can climb a spiral staircase of one hundred and sixty eight steps to reach the inside of her head.
